Orleans ON: Robin Dow, President, Patrician Consolidated Gold Mines Ltd. (“Patrician") announced
today that Dr. Raymond Davies has been elected to the board of directors. Dr. Davies will also serve
as a geological consultant on Patrician’s diamond exploration programmes.
Dr. Davies received his B.Sc. degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South
Africa and his M. Sc. and Ph.D. from McGill University. He worked for De Beers in Africa
and was General Manager and later Vice-president of Monopros [now De Beers] in Canada
from 1976-1983. He also held senior positions with Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting and
with a number of successful junior gold mining companies.
From 1992-1998 Dr. Davies was Vice President of Lytton Minerals [now Tahera Corporation]
which is one of the bigger players exploring for diamonds in the Northwest Territories. He
directed the diamond exploration of Glenmore Highlands in Finland and Estonia. He is a
diamond consultant to many other junior exploration companies and a director of Ditem
Explorations Inc. and New Dolly Varden Minerals Inc., both public companies.
Dr. Davies was responsible for most of the early work by Monopros on the Blackwater Lake project in
the North West Territories (“NWT”), which is now Patrician’s premier diamond prospect, containing
significant indicator minerals. His experience on this project, as well as his understanding of the
diamond potential in the NWT and Nunavut will be of great assistance to Patrician.
Patrician also announced that Rocco Guarnaccia, a Patrician director for the last two years, has
resigned as a director to focus on other projects. The directors have appreciated Mr. Guarnaccia’s
efforts on Patrician’s behalf and wish him well on his endeavours.
